Poisson-Arago spot for gravitational waves

چکیده
For the observer at infinity, a Schwarzschild black hole serves as an attractive opaque disk with radius of $$3\,\sqrt 3 M$$ that will produce diffraction pattern gravitational waves (GWs). In this study, we demonstrate bright spot, which is effect analogous to Poisson-Arago spot in optics, appear when ingoing (quasi-)plane GW diffracted by hole. Here, propose GWs described exact solution using Heun function. first time, Fresnel half-wave zone method proposed calculate angular part scattering stripes for infinity. Gravitational Waves from Gravitational Collapse
Gravitational wave emission from stellar collapse has been studied for more than three decades. Current state-of-the-art numerical investigations of collapse include those that use progenitors with more realistic angular momentum profiles, properly treat microphysics issues, account for general relativity, and examine non-axisymmetric effects in three dimensions. Such simulations predict that g...
متن کاملGravitational lensing by gravitational waves
Gravitational lensing by gravitational wave is considered. We notice that although final and initial direction of photons coincide, displacement between final and initial trajectories occurs. This displacement is calculated analytically for the plane gravitational wave pulse. Estimations for observations are discussed.

This article reviews current efforts and plans for gravitational-wave detection, the gravitationalwave sources that might be detected, and the information that the detectors might extract from the observed waves. Special attention is paid to (i) the LIGO/VIRGO network of earth-based, kilometer-scale laser interferometers, which is now under construction and will operate in the highfrequency ban...

The basic physics of g.w.'s emission, propagation and detection is outlined. متن کاملCosmological Waveguides for Gravitational Waves
We study the linearized equations describing the propagation of gravitational waves through dust. In the leading order of the WKB approximation, dust behaves as a nondispersive, non-dissipative medium. Taking advantage of these features, we explore the possibility that a gravitational wave from a distant source gets trapped by the gravitational field of a long filament of galaxies of the kind s...
